  • Location Data: GPS coordinates for accurate pickup and delivery services
  • Payment Information: Credit card details, billing addresses (processed securely through our payment partners)
  • Usage Data: App interactions, service preferences, and order history
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Process and fulfill your service requests (food delivery, rides, express delivery, pabili services)
  • Provide real-time tracking and updates on your orders
  • Process payments and prevent fraudulent transactions
  • Improve our services and develop new features
  • Send important service notifications and updates
  • Provide customer support and resolve issues
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service

3. Information Sharing

We may share your information with:

  • Service Partners: Restaurants, drivers, and delivery partners to fulfill your requests

How to Request Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data, including location data, by any of the following methods:

  • In-app: Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account
  • Email: Send a deletion request to ddemetillar@dxform.ph with the subject line "Data Deletion Request"

We will process your deletion request within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer where required by law (e.g., transaction records for tax compliance).

6. Location Data

Types of Location Data Collected

The Gigi Driver app collects the following types of location data from drivers:

  • Precise Location (GPS): Exact GPS coordinates accurate to within a few meters, used to navigate drivers to pickup and drop-off points.
  • Approximate Location: General area location (city/district level) used for matching drivers with nearby booking requests.

Background Location Collection

The Gigi Driver app collects location data while the app is running in the background (i.e., when the app is minimized or the screen is off). This is required to maintain continuous service during active trips and while a driver is online. Background location is only active when the driver has explicitly set their status to Online or is on an active trip.

Purposes for Location Data Collection

We collect and use driver location data exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Turn-by-turn Navigation: Providing drivers with accurate routing to customer pickup and drop-off locations.
  • Real-time Driver Tracking: Sharing driver location with customers during an active trip so they can monitor arrival progress.
  • Booking Request Matching: Detecting nearby available drivers to match them with incoming customer booking requests efficiently.
  • Background Trip Continuity: Maintaining continuous location updates while the driver is on an active trip or set to Online status, even when the app is minimized, to ensure uninterrupted service.

Location Data Retention

  • Active trip location data is retained for 30 days after trip completion for dispute resolution and service quality review.
  • Aggregated/anonymised location data (used for coverage analysis) may be retained for up to 12 months.
  • Location data is permanently deleted when a driver account is deleted or upon a verified data deletion request.

Managing Location Permissions

You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device Settings → Apps → Gigi Driver → Permissions → Location. Revoking location access will disable navigation, trip tracking, and order matching features.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations. Typically, this includes:

  • Account information: Until account deletion
  • Transaction records: 7 years for tax and legal compliance
  • Location data: 30 days unless required for ongoing services
  • Support communications: 3 years

8. Children's Privacy

Gigi is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or email. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
